In summer 1997 Berlin neuroscientists - students, postdocs and group leaders - met for the first time near Berlin to mutually present their data and to discuss their results. It turned out to be an exciting meeting and we thus felt encouraged to continue this series. The meetings in spring 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008 attracted more than 200 participants and we even expect the BNF 2010 to exceed this number.
